The Vehicle Identification Number - VIN (1) for 3400 LA1 is stamped or laser etched on the left side rear of the engine block. The Vehicle Identification Number - VIN derivative is nine digits long and can be used to determine if a vehicle contains the original engine.

• The first digit identifies the division.
• The second digit identifies the model year.
• The third digit identifies the assembly plant.
• The fourth through ninth digits are the last six digits of the Vehicle Identification Number-VIN.
