Rectifier Test

  1. Using an ohmmeter, measure resistance between positive terminal and each rectifier terminal. Perform STEP 1 in figure. See Fig 1 . Check resistance in both directions by reversing ohmmeter leads. Resistance should be more than 5 ohms in one direction and less than 5 ohms in the other direction. If resistance is not as specified, replace rectifier.
  2. Using an ohmmeter, measure resistance between each rectifier terminal and negative rectifier terminal. Perform STEP 2 in figure. See Fig 1 . Check resistance in both directions by reversing ohmmeter leads. Resistance should be more than 5 ohms in one direction and less than 5 ohms in the other direction. If resistance is not as specified, replace rectifier.
