Control Lever and/or Boot Replacement

Control Lever and/or Boot Replacement

Callout Component Name
Preliminary Procedures: 
Lift up the lower edge of the instrument panel cluster trim plate only enough to reach fingers underneath in order to release the shift boot bezel retaining tabs.
1 Shift Control Lever Boot Bezel
Tip:  Release the shift control boot bezel retaining tabs from the instrument cluster trim panel.
2 Shift Control Lever Screw
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .

Tighten:  10 N.m (89 lb in)


Tip: 
  1. Lift the shift boot up for access.
  2. It is not necessary to fully remove the screw in order to release the control lever.
  3. Ensure the screw is lined up with the flat on the transmission shift lever before tightening.

Tip:  The shift control knob and boot must be replaced as an assembly.
