INFORMATION

Pilot Program - Deta-Douglas Battery Quality Control Inspection.

Monday, June 16, 1997, Porsche Cars N.A., in cooperation with Deta-Douglas, will begin a pilot quality control program of Deta-Douglas Batteries with 30 dealers.

The dealers selected for this pilot program have already been notified. Failed Deta-Douglas batteries should be claimed as outlined in Warranty Bulletin 9609. These claims will be coded as R27 (Hold for DD, send documents to PCNA) and WILL NOT be pre-paid.

PROCEDURES

The procedures are as follows:

  1. All failed Deta-Douglas spare part warranty batteries must be tagged with a completed Porsche parts tag, part number, PNA 000 029.
  2. Deta-Douglas will be notified of warranty batteries to pick up by Porsche Cars N.A.
  3. The Deta-Douglas representative will give the dealer a copy of the delivery ticket and the battery will be taken back to Deta-Douglas for testing.
  4. Dealer will send copies of the Porsche parts tag, both current and previous repair orders, Porsche battery test check sheet and a Deta-Douglas delivery ticket to Porsche Cars N.A. with copy of SSG11O - Dealer Claim Error Report.
  5. Upon receipt of test findings from Deta-Douglas, all defective batteries will be released for payment.
  6. All non-defective batteries will be charged back and the battery will be returned to the dealer.

A reminder, it is Porsche Cars N.A. policy, that all parts are to be retained until the claim has been finalized on the Warranty Claim Payment Report and upon dealer acceptance of the final claim disposition. Parts that are not available for pending claims are subject to non-payment.

This pilot test program DOES NOT include the failed OE (original equipment) battery in vehicle. Those claims are submitted as W/C 2.

We appreciate and thank you for your cooperation in this pilot program. Any problems encountered should be brought to the immediate attention of your respective Warranty Specialist.
