Spark Knock Sensor Check
- Attach timing light according to manufacturer's instructions. Start engine and run it at idle speed. Using a brass punch, tap lightly and repeatedly on cylinder head near spark knock detector.
- Do not tap directly on sensor. Timing advance should drop by 6° as a result of the tapping. If not, replace sensor unit.
