Shift-Lock System
Shift-lock system prevents gear selector from being moved from "P" position without applying brake pedal. Shift-lock relay and solenoid are wired in conjunction with gear position sensor, brake switch and Transaxle Control Module (TCM). If TCM receives a brake switch and Park signal simultaneously, voltage is removed from solenoid by shift-lock relay, allowing gear selector to be moved from "P" position. If system fails, voltage can be disconnected to solenoid by removing fuse No. 9.
