Brake System

  1. Open the cap on the brake fluid reservoir and top off with DOT 4 brake fluid.
  2. Raise the car. Connect the bleeder hose to the caliper bleeder screw on the front left brake caliper and open the screw. Drain about 3.4 ozs of brake fluid. Use Bleeding Equipment. Tighten the bleeder screw to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . Install the rubber plug.
    NOTE: Top off after each time the fluid is drained.
  3. Top off with DOT 4 brake fluid in the reservoir and move the brake bleeder to the caliper bleeder screw on the rear right brake caliper and open the screw. Drain about 1.7 ozs of brake fluid. Tighten the bleeder screw. Install the rubber plug.
  4. Top off with DOT 4 brake fluid in the reservoir and move the brake bleeder to the caliper bleeder screw on the front right brake caliper and open the screw. Drain about 3.4 ozs of brake fluid. Tighten the bleeder screw. Install the rubber plug.
  5. Top off with DOT 4 brake fluid in the reservoir and move the brake bleeder to the caliper bleeder screw on the rear left brake caliper and open the screw. Drain about 1.7 ozs of brake fluid. Tighten the bleeder screw. Install the rubber plug.
  6. Top off with DOT 4 brake fluid in the reservoir and lower the car to the floor.
  7. Check the operation of the brakes. Depress the brake pedal and check that it does not feel spongy or go all the way down to the floor.
  8. Check the brake fluid level and top off with DOT 4 brake fluid as necessary.
