The MacPherson strut consists of a coil spring and damper with welded-on spring cup. It is secured to the steering swivel member by means of two nuts and bolts.

The damper's piston rod is attached to a support bearing of rubber, which enables the damper to rotate about the piston rod.

The spring's upper cup is mounted in a ball bearing pressed into a rubber bearing.
