Checking Intake System Integrity

Leaks in the intake and inlet system can be detected by spraying starter gas in strategic places. If there is a leak, the engine speed will increase slightly when the starter gas enters the system.

Check the following points for leaks:

• gaskets
• hoses and hose connections
• joints
• throttle body.
