Sensor functions using the pressure increase/decrease method

Each sensor takes a pressure measurement test every 30 seconds in a stationary mode. If the tyre pressure increases or decreases by more than 8.3 kPa (1.2 psi) in relation to the last pressure measurement, then a further measurement is performed immediately in order to confirm the change in pressure. If a pressure change has actually occurred then the sensor will transmit in the learn mode. Once the BCM receives a learn mode signal when it is in TPM learn mode, it assigns the affected sensor's ID to the location in the vehicle in relation to the order in which it was programmed in.
