Code 45 - Selector Switch No Data: Description
The selector switch uses 4 switches to signal PCM which gear position has been selected. See SELECTOR SWITCH POSITION TABLE (CODE 45) . If all 4 circuits are open at the same time, PCM will set code 45.
NOTE:
Test numbers refer to numbers on diagnostic chart.
- This step checks if code 45 is still present.
- This step checks for connector problems at selector switch.
- This step checks selector switch for a good ground.
- Use "Scan" tool to ensure wiring and connections are okay. If all circuits are open, PCM will set code 45.
- Check for open circuits by checking each terminal at selector switch for 12 volts.
