Retrieving Codes

NOTE: The Saturn PDT is used to display all self-diagnostic information stored in PCM memory. For information on retrieving codes with Saturn PDT, see manufacturer's information.
  1. Turn ignition on. DO NOT  start engine. SERVICE ENGINE SOON light should glow. Insert jumper wire from terminal "B" (diagnostic test terminal) to terminal "A" (ground) of PCM diagnostic connector. See Fig 1 .
  2. SERVICE ENGINE SOON light should begin to flash codes. To exit diagnostic mode, turn ignition off and remove jumper wire from PCM diagnostic connector.
