Tachometer Inaccurate

Use scan tool to compare RPM on tachometer to RPM on scan tool. Operate engine at several different speeds to verify if tachometer is operating correctly. If scan tool displays an RPM but tachometer does not, see INSTRUMENT CLUSTER RESISTANCE CHECK  .
