Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Saturn LW300, 2003 Saturn LW200, 2003 Saturn L300, and 2003 Saturn L200. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Guide the control cable through the pass-through in the dash panel.

  2. Secure the control cable grommet by pressing the cable into the pass-through hole in the dash panel.
  3. Route the control cable through the cable bracket on the powertrain mount, and secure the cable into the bracket.

  4. Install the control cable retaining clip.
  5. Connect the control cable end to the control assembly lever.

  6. Connect the control cable to the pin on the control assembly.
  7. Secure the control cable into the control assembly by pushing into place.
  8. Install the control cable retaining clip.
  9. Install the console. Refer to Console Replacement .
  10. Adjust the control cable assembly. Refer to Shift Lock Control Cable Replacement .
  11. Enable the SIR system. Refer to DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM in Air Bag Restraint Systems.
