NOTE: Due to an incorrect calibration part number, this bulletin has been revised and supersedes bulletin 03-T-10, which should be discarded.

CONDITION

Some customers may comment of one or more of the following conditions:

In warm weather conditions, automatic climate control system does not maintain desired temperature setting.
Air conditioning (A/C) compressor shuts off intermittently. A/C compressor will re-engage only after ignition switch is cycled off and on.
In cool weather conditions, automatic climate control system does not perform to desired temperature after the vehicle has been shut off and restarted within 10 minutes.
Excessive blower motor noise at vehicle start-up in the "Auto" mode.

CAUSE

This condition may be caused by the software calibration in the automatic climate control module.

CORRECTION

IMPORTANT: Saturn Service Stall System (SSS), software version 2.4 data release 2.0 for 2003 (distributed February 2003) or greater is required in order to reprogram the automatic climate control module.

Install new automatic climate control module calibration P/N 22718824. Refer to "Service Programming System (SPS)" in the Saturn Service Stall System (SSS) User Guide for reprogramming procedures. If calibration P/N 22718824 (displayed as "End Model Part Number" using the Tech 2) is already installed, refer to "Automatic Climate Control Diagnostics" in the 2002-2003 L-Series HVAC Service Manual for additional diagnostic information.
