CONDITION
Some customers may comment of one or more of the following conditions:
- In warm weather conditions, automatic climate control system does not maintain desired temperature setting.
- Air conditioning (A/C) compressor shuts off intermittently. A/C compressor will re-engage only after ignition switch is cycled off and on.
- In cool weather conditions, automatic climate control system does not perform to desired temperature after the vehicle has been shut off and restarted within 10 minutes.
- Excessive blower motor noise at vehicle start-up in the "Auto" mode.
CAUSE
This condition may be caused by the software calibration in the automatic climate control module.
CORRECTION
Install new automatic climate control module calibration P/N 22718824. Refer to "Service Programming System (SPS)" in the Saturn Service Stall System (SSS) User Guide for reprogramming procedures. If calibration P/N 22718824 (displayed as "End Model Part Number" using the Tech 2) is already installed, refer to "Automatic Climate Control Diagnostics" in the 2002-2003 L-Series HVAC Service Manual for additional diagnostic information.
