Engine Control Module: Removal

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Disconnect the small ECM harness connector from the ECM. See Figure .
  3. Remove the bolt retaining the large ECM connector to the ECM.
  4. Disconnect the large ECM harness connector from the ECM.
  5. Use the retaining tab to release the ECM from the underhood junction block bracket. See Figure .
