Throttle Position Sensor

The TP sensor is a potentiometer and is part of the Throttle Actuator Control (TAC). TP sensor is mounted on throttle body and cannot be serviced separately. ECM uses this signal to determine control of fuel, idle speed and spark timing. A problem in TP sensor circuit may set a related DTC. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS in SELF-DIAGNOSTICS - 3.0L SATURN "L" SERIES article.
