Installation Procedure

  1. Install the air compressor filter hose to the air compressor at 2 places.

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Install the air compressor to the air compressor bracket.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bracket to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

  3. Install the air compressor bolts/screws.

    Tighten:  Tighten the air compressor bolts/screws to 4 N.m (35 lb in).

  4. Install the air compressor shield.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 3 N.m (27 lb in).

  5. Install the air compressor relay to the air compressor bracket.
  6. Install the air compressor dryer. Refer to Automatic Level Control Air Dryer Replacement .

  7. Install the air compressor bracket to the underbody rail and rotate the air compressor bracket 90 degrees in order to allow the air compressor to hang from the air compressor bracket hook.
  8. Connect the air compressor electrical connector.
  9. Install the air line to the air dryer.
  10. Install the air compressor bracket nuts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the air compressor bracket nuts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  11. Install the air compressor bracket bolt.

    Tighten:  Tighten the air compressor bracket bolt/screw to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

  12. Install the air compressor filter (1) to the underbody rail.
  13. Install the A/C hoses if previously removed. Refer to Heater and Air Conditioning (A/C) Pipe Replacement/Repair - Auxiliary in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning.
  14. Lower the vehicle.
  15. Install the ELC/TRAILER fuse.
