System Description

  1. SYSTEM DESCRIPTION 
    1. The key reminder system is a precautionary function that reminds the driver that the key is still in the ignition key cylinder. The system activates a built-in buzzer when the ignition switch is OFF, the key is in the ignition key cylinder and the driver door is opened.
  2. SYSTEM FUNCTION 
    1. The combination meter commands the driver circuit to sound a built-in buzzer when the following 3 conditions are met: 1) the ignition switch is turned OFF, 2) the combination meter receives an unlock warning switch signal from the ignition key cylinder indicating that the key is inserted, and 3) the combination meter receives a driver side door open signal from the front door courtesy lamp switch.

    FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENTS

    Components Function
    Front door courtesy lamp switch assy Detects if driver side door is open or closed and outputs data to combination meter.
    Unlock warning switch assy Detects if key is/is not in ignition key cylinder and outputs data to combination meter.
    Combination meter assy Receives unlock warning switch signal from ignition key cylinder and driver side door open signal from front door courtesy lamp switch. Then combination meter actuates driver circuit to sound built-in buzzer intermittently.
