Problem Symptoms Table

If the ABS has a problem even when DTCs are not output, use the table below to identify the potential causes of the symptoms.

NOTE:

When replacing the brake actuator assembly or sensor, turn the ignition switch OFF.

ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM

Symptom Suspected Area See
ABS does not operate 1. Check brake fluid leakage -
2. Check power source circuit Refer to DTC C1241/41: Low Battery Positive Voltage
3. Check brake actuator assembly Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION
4. When above areas (1 to 3) are all normal but problem still occurs, replace brake actuator assembly Refer to REMOVAL
ABS does not operate efficiently 1. Check brake fluid leakage -
2. Check brake actuator assembly Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION
3. When above areas (1 and 2) are all normal but problem still occurs, replace brake actuator assembly Refer to REMOVAL
ABS warning light remains ON 1. Check ABS warning light circuit Refer to ABS Warning Light Remains ON
ABS warning light does not come ON 1. Check ABS warning light circuit Refer to ABS Warning Light does not Come ON
BRAKE warning light malfunction 1. Check BRAKE warning light circuit Refer to Brake Warning Light Circuit
DTC check cannot be done 1. Check TC and CG terminal circuit Refer to TC and CG Terminal Circuit
Test mode cannot be done 1. Check TS and CG terminal circuit Refer to TS and CG Terminal Circuit
