Brake Actuator: Installation: Installation

  1. INSTALL BRAKE ACTUATOR BRACKET ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the actuator bracket with the 3 bolts in the sequence shown in the illustration.

      Torque: 5.4 N*m (55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf) 

      NOTE:
      • Do not remove the hole plug before connecting the brake tube. New brake actuator are filled with brake fluid.
      • Do not carry the brake actuator by the connector.
  2. INSTALL BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the brake actuator with bracket with the 3 bolts in the sequence shown in the illustration.

      Torque: 19 N*m (194 kgf*cm, 14 ft.*lbf) 

      NOTE:

      Do not damage the brake tubes or wire harness.

    2. Temporarily install each brake tube in the correct positions of the brake actuator as shown in the illustration.

      *a To front wheel cylinder RH
      *b To front wheel cylinder LH
      *c To rear wheel cylinder RH
      *d To rear wheel cylinder LH
      *e From 1st master cylinder
      *f From 2nd master cylinder
    3. Using a union nut wrench 10 mm and a union nut wrench 12 mm, install the 6 brake tubes onto the brake actuator.

      Flare Nut 10 mm
      Flare Nut 12 mm

      Flare nut 10 mm 

      Torque: 15 N*m (155 kgf*cm, 11 ft.*lbf) 

      Flare nut 12 mm 

      Torque: 20 N*m (199 kgf*cm, 14 ft.*lbf) 

      NOTE:

      Use the formula to calculate special torque values for situations where a union nut wrench is combined with a torque wrench. Refer to PRECAUTION .

    4. Connect the brake actuator connector.

      *1 Lock lever
      NOTE:
      • Make sure that the connector is locked securely.
      • Make sure that the actuator connector can be connected smoothly. Do not allow entry of water, oil or dirt.
  3. INSTALL BATTERY CARRIER  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 73
  4. INSTALL BATTERY TRAY 
  5. INSTALL BATTERY  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 86
  6. FILL RESERVOIR WITH BRAKE FLUID  . Refer to REPLACEMENT - Step 2
  7. BLEED MASTER CYLINDER  . Refer to REPLACEMENT - Step 3
  8. BLEED BRAKE LINE  . Refer to REPLACEMENT - Step 4
  9. BLEED BRAKE ACTUATOR  . Refer to REPLACEMENT - Step 5
  10. CHECK FLUID LEVEL IN RESERVOIR  . Refer to REPLACEMENT - Step 6
  11. INSPECT FOR BRAKE FLUID LEAK 
  12. INSTALL CENTER COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER  . Refer to REPLACEMENT - Step 7
  13. CHECK ACTUATOR WITH TECHSTREAM 

    Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION 

  14. PERFORM YAW RATE AND ACCELERATION SENSOR ZERO POINT CALIBRATION 

    Refer to CALIBRATION

  15. CHECK AND CLEAR DTC 

    Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR
