General Maintenance
- INSPECT DRIVE BELT
- Inspect the drive belt. Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION .
- INSPECT ENGINE OIL
- Check the engine oil. Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION .
- REPLACE ENGINE OIL AND OIL FILTER
- Replace the engine oil and oil filter. Refer to REPLACEMENT .
- INSPECT ENGINE COOLANT
- Inspect the engine coolant. Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION .
- REPLACE ENGINE COOLANT
- Replace the engine coolant. Refer to REPLACEMENT .
- INSPECT EXHAUST PIPES AND MOUNTINGS
- Visually check the pipes, hangers and connections for severe corrosion, leaks or damage.
- INSPECT AIR CLEANER FILTER
- Remove the air filter.
- Visually check that the air filter is not excessively damaged or oily. If necessary, replace the air filter.
- Reinstall the air filter.
- Clean the filter with compressed air.
HINT:
First blow from the inside of the filter thoroughly then repeat from the outside.
- REPLACE AIR CLEANER FILTER
- Replace the air filter with a new one.
- INSPECT FUEL TANK CAP, FUEL LINES, CONNECTIONS AND FUEL VAPOR CONTROL VALVE
- Visually check the fuel lines and hoses for cracks, leakage, loose connections and deformation. Also, visually check the vapor control valve for looseness.
- REPLACE SPARK PLUGS
- Replace the spark plugs. Refer to REMOVAL .
