Ignition System: Distributor
Breakerless, electronic ignition systems are used on all models. Hitachi systems are used on 1.8L 4WD models with manual transmission and 1.8L Turbo models with automatic transmissions. Nippondenso systems are used on all other models. Distributors for 1.8L Turbo have advance-retard diaphragm, permitting timing retard during turbocharger operation.
