Load Test

  1. Using starter bench tester, apply 3.5 ft. lbs. (4.7 N.m) load to starter. Engage tester switch for no more than 30 seconds. Note and record voltage drop and current draw.
  2. Voltage should not fall less than 8 volts. Current draw should be less that 200 amps. Starter should spin at 1200 RPM or more.
