Test 11: Fluid Level Sensor Problem
- Check for DTCs. If DTC 39 does not exist, go to step 5). If DTC 39 exists, go to next step.
- Check charging system. Repair as necessary and retest. If charging system is okay, turn ignition off. Disconnect ABS/TCS control unit connectors. Start engine and allow it to idle. Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 1 at ABS/TCS control unit 8-pin harness connector. See Figure . If voltage is 14.2-14.8 volts, go to next step. If voltage is not 14.2-14.8 volts, repair wiring harness as necessary.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect ABS/TCS control unit connectors. Remove fuse No. 18 (10-amp) from relay/fuse box. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 1 at ABS/TCS control unit 8-pin harness connector. If resistance is infinite, go to next step. If resistance is not infinite, repair wiring harness as necessary.
- Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 5 at ABS/TCS control unit 8-pin harness connector. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 6 at ABS/TCS control unit 6-pin harness connector. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 15 at ABS/TCS control unit 20-pin harness connector. If all resistance readings are infinite, replace ABS/TCS control unit. If any resistance reading is not infinite, repair wiring harness as necessary.
- Check charge warning light. Light should be off with key off, on with ignition on and go off after engine is started. Repair charging system as needed. Go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect ABS/TCS control unit connectors. Turn ignition on. Check voltage between ground and terminal No. 1 at ABS/TCS control unit 6-pin harness connector. Voltage should be 10-13 volts. Check voltage between ground and terminal No. 20 at ABS/TCS control unit 20-pin harness connector. Voltage should be 2 volts or less. Start engine. Check voltage between ground and terminal No. 20 at ABS/TCS control unit 20-pin harness connector. Voltage should be 10-14 volts at idle. If voltage is not as specified, repair wiring. If voltage is as specified, replace ABS/TCS control unit.
