Low Fuel Warning Light Sensor

  1. Remove fuel tank sending unit (main unit on AWD vehicles). At fuel tank sending unit connector, ground terminal No. 2 (terminal No. 5 on Legacy) and connect test light between positive battery terminal and terminal No. 5. See Figure or Figure .
  2. With sending unit float submerged in gasoline, test light should be off. With sending unit float not submerged, test light should be on. If light does not respond as specified, replace sending unit.
