Section 1 (Generators & Regulators): Description

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2000 Subaru Impreza and 2000 Subaru Forester. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The Mitsubishi generator is a conventional rotating field, 3-phase, self-rectifying type. Four positive and 4 negative diodes are used to rectify current. System is equipped with built-in voltage regulator which controls output voltage and warning light operation.

The on-off operation of transistor Tr1, connects and disconnects the field current flow, providing a constant level of output voltage. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
