Sub Frame: Removal
- Release the parking brake.
- Using the Subaru Select Monitor, perform the brake maintenance mode. Ref. to PARKING BRAKE>PARKING BRAKE SYSTEM>OPERATION>BRAKE MAINTENANCE MODE
.NOTE: For detailed operation procedures, refer to "Help" of application.
- Disconnect the ground cable from battery. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY>GROUND TERMINAL REMOVAL OR INSTALLATION .
- Lift up the vehicle, and then remove the rear wheels.
- Remove the fuel tank protector. Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DOTC)>FUEL TANK PROTECTOR>REMOVAL .
- Remove the rear exhaust pipe and muffler. Ref. to EXHAUST (H4DOTC)>REAR EXHAUST PIPE>REMOVAL . Ref. to EXHAUST (H4DOTC)>MUFFLER>REMOVAL .
- Remove the propeller shaft. Ref. to PROPELLER SHAFT/DRIVE SHAFT/AXLE>PROPELLER SHAFT>REMOVAL .
- Remove the trailing link assembly rear. Ref. to REAR SUSPENSION>TRAILING LINK>REMOVAL .
- Remove the rear lateral link assembly front. Ref. to REAR SUSPENSION>REAR LATERAL LINK (FRONT)>REMOVAL .
- Remove the rear lateral link assembly rear. Ref. to REAR SUSPENSION>REAR LATERAL LINK (REAR)>REMOVAL .
- Remove the stabilizer rear. Ref. to REAR SUSPENSION>STABILIZER>REMOVAL>STABILIZER .
- Remove the clip and bolt on the harness clamp, and remove the sensor sub assembly rear.CAUTION:
- Be careful not to damage the sensor.
- Do not apply excessive force to the sensor harness.
- Remove the disc brake assembly rear. Ref. to BRAKE>REAR DISC BRAKE ASSEMBLY>REMOVAL .
- Remove the adapter cord EPB.
- Disconnect the connector (a), and remove the clamp (b).
- Disconnect the connector (c), and remove the clamp (d).
- Remove the clamp (e).
- Remove the clamp (f).
- Remove the clamp (g).
- Remove the rear drive shaft. Ref. to PROPELLER SHAFT/DRIVE SHAFT/AXLE>REAR DRIVE SHAFT>REMOVAL .
- Remove the rear axle housing.
- Remove the rear differential. Ref. to DIFFERENTIALS>REAR DIFFERENTIAL (VB-TYPE)>REMOVAL .
- Remove the rear exhaust cover.
- Remove the spare tire.
- Remove the cover spare tire COMPL.
- Remove the sub frame assembly rear.
- Support the sub frame assembly rear using a transmission jack.CAUTION: The sub frame assembly rear is heavy. Make sure that it is firmly supported so that it is level.
- Remove the bolt, and remove the support sub frame rear and the support sub frame front on the left and right sides.
- Remove the sub frame assembly rear.CAUTION: While checking there is no dragging of harness and wire, lower it slowly with a transmission jack.
- Support the sub frame assembly rear using a transmission jack.
- Remove the arm assembly rear upper from the sub frame assembly rear.
