Outer Mirror Assembly: Disassembly

CAUTION: When removing the repair mirror, be careful not to damage the back surface of repair mirror with a flat tip screwdriver.
  1. Operate the remote control mirror switch to face the mirror repair toward inside.
  2. Disconnect the ground terminal from battery sensor. Refer to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
  3. Remove the mirror repair.
    1. Insert a flat tip screwdriver or similar tool into the tool insertion opening shown in the figure, release the engagement and take the mirror repair outward to remove.

    2. Disconnect the connector. (Model with mirror heater)

  4. Release the claws, and then remove the cover cap outer mirror.
    CAUTION: Be careful not to apply excessive force when removing the outer mirror cover, as the lower hooks may become damaged.

  5. Remove the screws and release the claws, and then remove the cover cap outer mirror lower.

  6. Remove the Subaru Rear Vehicle Detection system indicator. (Model with Subaru Rear Vehicle Detection system)
    1. Disconnect the connector.
    2. Release the claws and then remove the Subaru Rear Vehicle Detection system indicator.

  7. Remove the light assembly side turn mirror.
    CAUTION:
    1. Remove the screws and release the claws, and then pull out the light assembly side turn mirror to the front of the vehicle.
    2. Disconnect the connector and remove the light assembly side turn mirror.
