Engine Cooling System: Radiator: Installation

  1. Install new radiator upper gasket and radiator lower gasket to the positions shown in the figure.

  2. Set the radiator, and remove the ropes, etc. from the condenser assembly.
  3. Install the pipe evaporator cooling to the clip.
  4. Connect the condenser assembly and the radiator.

    Tightening torque: 

    7.5 N.m (0.8 kgf-m, 5.5 ft-lb)

  5. Install the radiator upper bracket.

    Tightening torque: 

    12 N.m (1.2 kgf-m, 8.9 ft-lb)

  6. Install the bracket grille front.
  7. Install the radiator fan and fan motor assembly. Ref. to COOLING (H4DOTC)>Radiator Fan and Fan Motor Assembly>INSTALLATION .
  8. Connect the radiator outlet hose.
  9. Install the center exhaust pipe (front). Ref. to EXHAUST (H4DOTC)>Center Exhaust Pipe>INSTALLATION>CENTER EXHAUST PIPE (FRONT) .
  10. Install the V-belt cover.
    NOTE:
    • Check the grommet for peel-off or disengagement.
    • Be careful not to deform the bracket during installation.

    Tightening torque: 

    7 N.m (0.7 kgf-m, 5.2 ft-lb)

  11. Connect the ground terminal to battery sensor. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
  12. Fill engine coolant. Ref. to COOLING (H4DOTC)>Engine Coolant>REPLACEMENT>FILLING OF ENGINE COOLANT .
