Hybrid Model
WARNING:
The hybrid system includes a high voltage circuit.

- Install the engine mounting onto the engine.
Tightening torque:
35 N.m (3.6 kgf-m, 25.8 ft-lb)
- Apply a small amount of grease to the splines of the reduction gear.
Grease:
NICHIMOLY N-130 or equivalent
- Position the engine in engine compartment and align it with transmission.NOTE: Be careful not to damage adjacent parts or body panels with crank pulley, oil level gauge, etc.
- With a lifting device and a garage jack, slowly lower the engine together with the transmission.NOTE: Check that the stud bolt of the engine mounting is securely inserted into the engine mounting hole of the front crossmember.
- Install the bolts which hold upper side of transmission to engine.
Tightening torque:
50 N.m (5.1 kgf-m, 36.9 ft-lb)
- Remove the garage jack.
- Remove the lifting device and wire ropes.
- Lift up the vehicle.
- Install the bolts and nuts which hold lower side of the transmission to engine.
Tightening torque:
50 N.m (5.1 kgf-m, 36.9 ft-lb)
- Install the crossmember support - rear RH. Ref. to FRONT SUSPENSION>CROSSMEMBER SUPPORT> INSTALLATION .
- Install the nuts which hold the engine mounting to the front crossmember.CAUTION: Use new nuts.NOTE: Make sure that locators (a) of the engine mounting are securely inserted.
Tightening torque:
90 N.m (9.2 kgf-m, 66.4 ft-lb)
- Connect the ground cord.
Tightening torque:
7.5 N.m (0.8 kgf-m, 5.5 ft-lb)
- Lower the vehicle.
- Connect the fuel delivery tube.
- Set the fuel delivery tube (B) together with the evaporation hose (C), and connect the quick connector on the fuel delivery tube (B) to the fuel pipe.CAUTION:
- Check that there is no damage or dust on the quick connector. If necessary, clean the seal surface of the pipe.
- When connecting the quick connector, make sure to insert it all the way in before locking the slider.
- When it is difficult to lock the slider, check that the connector is fully inserted.
- After locking the slider, pull the quick connector itself to the disconnecting direction, and then push to the connecting direction in order to confirm secure connection. Always make sure to perform this confirmation ending up with a pushing in.
NOTE: Connect the quick connector as shown in the figure. - Install the clip (A).
- Set the fuel delivery tube (B) together with the evaporation hose (C), and connect the quick connector on the fuel delivery tube (B) to the fuel pipe.
- Connect the inhibitor harness connector to the engine wiring harness.
- Install the pitching stopper. Ref. to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (TH2A)>TRANSMISSION MOUNTING SYSTEM>INSTALLATION>PITCHING STOPPER .
- Connect the heater inlet hose (A) and the heater outlet hose (B).NOTE: Be careful not to mix up the heater inlet hose and the heater outlet hose when connecting them.
- Set the engine wiring harness and secure the engine wiring harness to the bracket with the claw.
- Connect the battery positive terminal. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
- Install the engine wiring harness to the clip (C), and connect the connector (B) to the main fuse box.
- Connect connector (A) to ECM.CAUTION: To prevent damage to the connector (A), when connecting the connector (A), insert the connector (A) straight in until it stops, and while maintaining the position, lock the lever.NOTE: When connecting the connector (A), check that the lever is located at the position shown in the figure (position beyond the lock portion (a)).
- Install the battery cable part of the engine wiring harness. Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO(HEV))>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>COMPONENT>ENGINE WIRING HARNESS>STRUCTURAL DIAGRAM 4 (BATTERY CABLE PART) .
- Connect the hose - pressure discharge to the electric compressor assembly. Ref. to AIR CONDITIONER (HEV)>HOSE AND PIPE>INSTALLATION .
- Secure the HV air conditioning wire with the clip and connect the connector to the electric compressor assembly.WARNING: Be sure to wear insulated gloves.CAUTION:
- Check the connection of connector for foreign matter adhesion.
- If adhesion of water or oil occurs at the connection of connector, completely wipe it off.
- Install the inverter front water pipe. Ref. to COOLING (H4DO(HEV))> INVERTER WATER PIPE>INSTALLATION>INVERTER FRONT WATER PIPE .
- Install the radiator. Ref. to COOLING (H4DO(HEV))>RADIATOR>INSTALLATION .
- Install the air intake case (rear). Ref. to INTAKE (INDUCTION) (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>AIR CLEANER CASE>INSTALLATION .
- Install the air intake boot. Ref. to INTAKE (INDUCTION) (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>AIR INTAKE BOOT> INSTALLATION .
- Install the service disconnect plug. Ref. to HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE>SERVICE PLUG>INSTALLATION .
- Connect the battery ground terminal. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
- Install the fuel filler cap, and close the fuel filler lid.
- Fill engine coolant. Ref. to COOLING (H4DO(HEV))>ENGINE COOLANT>REPLACEMENT>FILLING OF ENGINE COOLANT .
- Install the collector cover. Ref. to INTAKE (INDUCTION) (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>COLLECTOR COVER> INSTALLATION .
- Set the panel COMPL front hood to the normal position. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENT'S>NOTE>STAY ASSEMBLY - FRONT HOOD .
- Install the striker - front hood. Ref. to EXTERIOR BODY PANELS>FRONT HOOD>ASSEMBLY .
- Close the front hood.
