Variant Work

Perform when replacing the combination meter assembly.

• When communication with Subaru Select Monitor is possible ([Read and store the ECM setting information] is workable): Perform the operation procedure A.
• When communication with Subaru Select Monitor is possible ([Read and store the ECM setting information] is not workable): Perform the operation procedure B.
  CAUTION:

  • Subaru Select Monitor is required for variant work.
  • If an error is displayed during the work, click the [OK] button and perform the variant work again.
  • When odometer value reading is performed, the odometer displays "________" and continued use of the combination meter assembly is impossible.
  • When the odometer writing operation is completed correctly, the odometer value is automatically cleared from the Subaru Select Monitor.

OPERATION PROCEDURE A 

1. Read and store the ECM setting information.
   1. Connect the Subaru Select Monitor.
   2. Select [Read Control module setting information] on [Work Support] of Subaru Select Monitor. Ref. to COMMON (DIAG)>WORK SUPPORT .
   3. According to the display screen, save and close the file.
2. Read the odometer value.
   NOTE: Perform the same operation procedures as those of reading and storing the ECM setting information.
   1. Select [Reading and Writing of the ECU Configuration Information and Odometer Value] on [Work Support] of Subaru Select Monitor. Ref. to COMMON (DIAG)>WORK SUPPORT .
   2. Perform the operation according to the display screen.
3. Replace the combination meter assembly with a new part.
4. Write the odometer value.
   1. Perform the operation according to the display screen.
5. Write the ECM setting information.
   NOTE: Perform the same operation procedures as those of reading and storing the ECM setting information.
   1. Select [Write Control module setting information] on [Work Support] of Subaru Select Monitor. Ref. to COMMON (DIAG)>WORK SUPPORT .
   2. On the item list, select [Write ECU setting save data].
   3. Perform the operation according to the display screen.
   4. When [Write operation was completed.] is displayed, select the [OK] button.
6. Check if the combination meter assembly operates normally.

OPERATION PROCEDURE B 

1. Replace the combination meter assembly with a new part.
2. Write the vehicle data.
   1. Connect the Subaru Select Monitor.
   2. Select [Write Control module setting information] on [Work Support] of Subaru Select Monitor. Ref. to COMMON (DIAG)>WORK SUPPORT .
   3. From the item list, select [Write ECU setting 12 columns of models]. Enter the applied model and click the [OK] button. Ref. to IDENTIFICATION>IDENTIFICATION NUMBER AND LABEL LOCATIONS .
   4. Enter the option code and click the [OK] button. Ref. to IDENTIFICATION>IDENTIFICATION NUMBER AND LABEL LOCATIONS .
   5. Confirm the vehicle information on [Write ECU setting 12 columns of models] screen, and click the [OK] button.
   6. When [Write?] is displayed, select the [Yes] button.
   7. Confirm that [Write operation is complete.] is displayed, and click the [OK] button.
3. Check if the combination meter assembly operates normally.
