Engine Oil Pressure: Inspection

Disconnect the ground terminal from battery sensor. Ref. to GROUND TERMINAL REMOVAL OR INSTALLATION .
Remove the oil pressure switch. Ref. to LUBRICATION (H4DO)>OIL PRESSURE SWITCH>REMOVAL .
Install the oil pressure gauge to the installation area for the oil pressure switch of the chain cover.

Connect the ground terminal to battery sensor. Ref. to GROUND TERMINAL REMOVAL OR INSTALLATION .
Start the engine, and check the oil pressure.
NOTE:
- Standard value is based on an engine oil temperature of 80°C (176°F).
- If the oil pressure is out of the specification, check oil pump, oil filter and lubrication line. Ref. to LUBRICATION (H4DO)>SYMPTOMS AND CAUSES>INSPECTION .
- If the oil pressure warning light is ON and oil pressure is within standard, check the oil pressure system. Ref. to LUBRICATION (H4DO)>OIL PRESSURE SYSTEM>INSPECTION .
Engine oil pressure:

While idling

Standard

47 kPa (0.5 kg/cm² , 7 psi) or more

At 3, 000 r/min

Standard

230 kPa (2.3 kg/cm² , 33 psi) or more
After inspection, install the related parts in the reverse order of removal.
