Airbag Control Module: Removal

CAUTION:
  • Refer to "CAUTION" of "General Description" before handling the airbag system components. Ref. to AIRBAG SYSTEM>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>CAUTION .
  • Do not disassemble the airbag control module.
  • If the airbag control module is deformed or if there is any trace of water on the module, replace the airbag control module with a new one.
  • Do not drop the airbag control module.
  • After removal, keep the airbag control module on a dry, clean surface away from moisture, heat and dust.
  1. Disconnect the ground terminal from the battery sensor, and wait for at least 60 seconds before starting work. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
    NOTE: Release the shift lock and shift the select lever to the "N" position. Ref. to CONTROL SYSTEMS>SELECT LEVER>REMOVAL .
  2. Remove the cover assembly front and the console box assembly. Ref. to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>CONSOLE BOX>REMOVAL .
  3. Remove the ornament panel mid passenger and the center information display assembly. Ref. to ENTERTAINMENT & MONITORING>COCKPIT DISPLAY>REMOVAL>DISPLAY ASSEMBLY .
  4. Remove the cover center side and the tray center LWR on the left and right sides. Ref. to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>CENTER CONSOLE>REMOVAL .
  5. Remove the clips, and remove the duct console center and the duct console front.

  6. Remove the airbag control module.
  1. Disconnect the connector from airbag control module. Ref. to AIRBAG SYSTEM>AIRBAG CONNECTOR>PROCEDURE>AIRBAG CONTROL MODULE .
  2. Remove the bolt and nuts and remove the airbag control module.
