Front Disc Brake Assembly: Installation

NOTE:
Before installation, remove mud and foreign matter from the caliper body and support front disc brake.
- Check each part. Ref. to BRAKE>Front Disc Brake Assembly>INSPECTION .
- Install the support front disc brake.
Tightening torque:
142 N.m (14.5 kgf-m, 104.7 ft-lb)
- Press back the piston disc brake with a tool as needed.CAUTION: When pressing back the piston disc brake, the clearance between pad disc brake and brake disc becomes large, which makes the brake pedal effort softer.
After the installation of front wheel, be sure to perform the adjustment of the clearance and the pedal effort by depressing the brake pedal repeatedly.Preparation tool:
Disc brake piston tool
- Apply a thin coat of the grease contained in pad kit or brake grease to the support front disc brake, piston disc brake, and caliper body.
Preparation items:
Grease: An item contained in the pad kit, or BRAKE GREASE (part No. 003602001)
- Install the pad COMPL.
- Install the caliper body.
Tightening torque:
55 N.m (5.6 kgf-m, 40.6 ft-lb)
- Connect the brake hose front using a new gasket.
Tightening torque:
26 N.m (2.7 kgf-m, 19.2 ft-lb)
- Install the pad clip.
- Bleed air from the brake line. Ref. to BRAKE>Air Bleeding>PROCEDURE>BRAKE LINE .
- Install the front wheels.
Tightening torque:
120 N.m (12.2 kgf-m, 88.5 ft-lb)
