Oil Level Switch: Installation

  1. Use a new O-ring to install the oil level switch.
    NOTE: Apply engine oil to O-ring.

    Tightening torque: 

    6.4 N.m (0.7 kgf-m, 4.7 ft-lb)

  2. Secure the harness with clip, and connect the connector (A).

  3. Install the engine mounting LH.

    Tightening torque: 

    35 N.m (3.6 kgf-m, 25.8 ft-lb)

  4. Lower the engine and remove the lifting device and wire ropes.
  5. Remove the ST1 and ST2 from the engine unit.

  6. Install the front drive shaft LH. Ref. to PROPELLER SHAFT/DRIVE SHAFT/AXLE>FRONT DRIVE SHAFT>INSTALLATION .
  7. Install the electric power steering gearbox. Ref. to POWER ASSISTED SYSTEM (POWER STEERING)>ELECTRIC POWER STEERING GEARBOX>INSTALLATION .
  8. Install the nuts which hold the engine mounting to the crossmember COMPL front.
    CAUTION: Be sure to use a new nut.
    NOTE: Make sure that locators (a) of the engine mounting are securely inserted.

    Tightening torque: 

    90 N.m (9.2 kgf-m, 66.4 ft-lb)

  9. Install the front exhaust pipe. Ref. to EXHAUST (H4DO)>FRONT EXHAUST PIPE>INSTALLATION .
  10. Install the TCM. (Impreza model) Ref. to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (TR580)>TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE (TCM)>INSTALLATION .
  11. Install the pitching stopper. (Crosstrek model) Ref. to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (TR580)>TRANSMISSION MOUNTING SYSTEM>INSTALLATION>PITCHING STOPPER .
  12. Install the air intake boot. Ref. to INTAKE (INDUCTION) (H4DO)>AIR INTAKE BOOT>INSTALLATION .
  13. Install the air intake duct. Ref. to INTAKE (INDUCTION) (H4DO)>AIR INTAKE DUCT>INSTALLATION .
  14. Install the V-belt cover.
    NOTE:
    • Check the grommet for peel-off or disengagement.
    • Be careful not to deform the bracket during installation.

    Tightening torque: 

    7 N.m (0.7 kgf-m, 5.2 ft-lb)

  15. Fill engine oil. Ref. to LUBRICATION (H4DO)>ENGINE OIL>REPLACEMENT .
  16. Connect the ground terminal to battery sensor. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
  17. Set the hood COMPL front to the normal position. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>STAY ASSEMBLY FRONT HOOD .
  18. Install the striker assembly front hood. Ref. to EXTERIOR BODY PANELS>FRONT HOOD>ASSEMBLY .
