Engine Oil: Replacement

CAUTION:
  • Vehicle components are extremely hot immediately after driving. Be wary of receiving burns from heated parts.
  • If engine oil spills over the following parts or similar parts, completely wipe it off to avoid emission of smoke and causing a fire.
    • Engine
    • Exhaust pipe
    • Under cover

Preparation items  :

Engine oil: Ref. to LUBRICATION (H4DO)>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>SPECIFICATION>ENGINE OIL>TYPE .

NOTE:

Refer to "SPECIFICATION" for engine oil capacity. Ref. to LUBRICATION (H4DO)>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>SPECIFICATION>ENGINE OIL>CAPACITY .

  1. Remove the oil filler cap.
  2. Drain engine oil by loosening the drain plug.

  3. Install the drain plug using a new gasket.
    CAUTION: An old gasket may be adhered to the drain plug, so be sure to check the plug

    Tightening torque: 

    41.7 N.m (4.3 kgf-m, 30.8 ft-lb)

  4. Add engine oil up to the "F" line on oil level gauge.
  5. Install the oil filler cap.
  6. Check the engine oil level. Ref. to LUBRICATION (H4DO)>ENGINE OIL>INSPECTION .
