LH Side

NOTE: Components: Ref. to IGNITION (H4DO)>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>COMPONENT .
  1. Disconnect the ground terminal from battery sensor. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
  2. Remove the battery. Ref. to STARTING/CHARGING SYSTEMS (H4DO)>BATTERY>REMOVAL .
  3. Disconnect connector (A) from ECM. Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO)>ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM)>REMOVAL .
  4. Disconnect the connector (B) from the main fuse box, and remove the engine wiring harness from the clip (C).
    NOTE: When disconnecting the connector (B), pry the portion (a) shown in the figure to release the lock using a flat tip screwdriver or similar tool wrapped with protective tape, and move the lever in the direction of arrow.

  5. Release the claw (A) securing the battery cable assembly to the bracket.
  6. Release the claw (B) securing the engine wiring harness to the bracket, and place it aside so that it does not interfere with work.
  7. Remove the bracket.

  8. Remove the bolts and the nuts which secure the CVTF cooler pipe No. 2. (Model with CVTF cooler (air cool))
    NOTE:
    • This procedure is necessary to secure the operation space during installation/removal of the ignition coil.
    • Use a socket with magnet (for preventing nut falling) to remove the nut through the gap of the front grille assembly.

  9. Remove the pipe evaporator cooling from the clip, and place it aside so that it does not interfere with the work.
    CAUTION: Do not apply excessive force to the pipe.
    NOTE: This procedure is necessary to secure the operation space during installation/removal of the ignition coil.

  10. Disconnect the connector (A) and remove the ignition coil.
    NOTE: To disconnect the connector, while pressing the spring (a), slide it in the direction of the arrow with a clip remover.
