Idle-Up RPM

  1. Warm engine to normal operating temperature. Check that idle speed is set to specification. Individually operate headlights, heater fan, rear window defogger, and air conditioner.
  2. Verify idle-up actuator rod is extended as each unit is turned on (indicating that idle-up mechanism is working). If idle-up RPM is incorrect, adjust by turning idle-up adjusting screw. See Fig 1 .
