Starter Relay

  1. Verify continuity between relay terminals No. 1 and 3. Ensure continuity does not exist between terminals No. 2 and 4. See Fig 1. If continuity is not as indicated, replace relay.
  2. Check relay operation. Apply battery voltage between terminals No. 1 and 3. Continuity should now exist between terminals No. 2 and 4. If relay does not test as indicated, replace relay.

Camry In left cowl
Celica & Supra Behind right kick panel
Corolla No. 2 fuse block in engine compartment
Land Cruiser (2)
MR2 Left side luggage compartment
Previa Under left side instrument panel
Pickup & 4Runner Driver's side fuse block
(1) On models with manual transmission only.
(2) Land Cruiser models are not equipped with starter relay.
