No-Load Test
Connect ammeter in series with starter motor and fully-charged 12-volt battery. See Fig 1. Starter should rotate smoothly. Ensure starter draw is less than maximum specification. See NO-LOAD TEST SPECIFICATIONS table. Replace starter if not within specification.
