Power Mirror Switch

Remove power mirror switch. Using an ohmmeter, check continuity between appropriate mirror switch terminals. See appropriate POWER MIRROR SWITCH CONTINUITY TEST table. Continuity or resistance should or should not exist between specified terminals, depending on vehicle model. Check table foot note. If switch fails any test, replace switch. If switch passes continuity or resistance test, inspect switch circuit for defects or damage. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .

POWER MIRROR SWITCH CONTINUITY TEST (AVALON - WITHOUT DRIVING POSITION MEMORY)

(1) If continuity does not exist between specified terminals, replace switch. See Fig 1.

LEFT/RIGHT ADJUSTMENT SWITCH CONTINUITY TEST (AVALON - WITH DRIVING POSITION MEMORY)

(1) If continuity or resistance is as specified between specified terminals, replace switch. See Fig 1.
POWER MIRROR SWITCH RESISTANCE TEST (AVALON - WITH DRIVING POSITION MEMORY) (1)

Mirror Switch Position (2) Resistance (Ohms)
Up 100
Right 250
Down 470
Left 800
(1) Measure resistance between terminals 7 & 9 with Left/Right Adjustment switch in both positions.
(2) If resistance is as specified between terminals 7 & 9, replace switch. See Fig 1.

Check circuits of power mirror switch at harness side of connector. See MIRROR SWITCH CIRCUITS TEST (AVALON & LAND CRUISER)  table. If circuits are not as specified, inspect circuits connected to other components.

MIRROR SWITCH HARNESS CIRCUITS TEST (AVALON & LAND CRUISER)
