Remote Transmitter Registration
- Perform this step in 40 seconds or less. Insert and remove key from ignition lock cylinder, lock and unlock inside door lock control switch 5 times at about one-second intervals and close and open driver's door.
- Perform this step in 40 seconds or less. Lock and unlock inside door lock control switch 5 times at about one-second intervals and insert key into ignition lock cylinder. To activate ADD mode, turn ignition switch from ON to LOCK position one time. To activate REWRITE mode, turn ignition switch from ON to LOCK position 2 times at one-second intervals. To activate CONFIRMATION mode turn ignition switch from ON to LOCK position 3 times at one-second intervals. To activate PROHIBITION mode, turn ignition switch from ON to LOCK position 5 times at one-second intervals. Remove key from ignition lock cylinder.
- Within 3 seconds or less, MPX body control ECU automatically performs LOCK/UNLOCK operation to confirm which mode was selected. LOCK/UNLOCK operation will occur one time to confirm that ADD mode has been selected or 2 times at one-second intervals for REWRITE mode. Depress remote transmitter LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously within 1.5 seconds and go to next step. If CONFIRMATION mode is selected, MPX body control ECU automatically performs LOCK/UNLOCK operation 1-4 times at 2 second intervals to inform operator of the number of remote transmitters that are registered. If no remote transmitters have been registered or PROHIBITION mode was selected, LOCK/UNLOCK operation will occur 5 times at one-second intervals.
- Within 40 seconds of completing previous step, with remote transmitter to be registered, depress LOCK and UNLOCK switches on remote transmitter simultaneously within 1.5 seconds. Within 3 seconds depress either switch on remote transmitter for more than one second. Within 3 seconds, wireless door lock ECU will automatically perform LOCK/UNLOCK operation once if registration of recognition code is completed. Within 40 seconds, register any additional remote transmitters as needed. Wireless door lock ECU will perform LOCK/UNLOCK operation two times if recognition code received first time and second time do not match. If LOCK/UNLOCK operation was performed two times, return to step. 1.
- Registration of recognition code procedure will end if 40 seconds has elapsed since last MPX body control ECU response, driver's door is closed, key is inserted into ignition switch, or 4 recognition codes were registered at the same time.
