Remote Transmitter
- Ensure key is not in ignition switch. Unlock and open driver's door. Close and lock other doors.
- Insert and remove key from ignition switch 2 times within 5 seconds. Go to next step.
- Close and open driver's door 2 times within 40 seconds. Go to next step.
- Insert key into ignition switch, then remove key. Go to next step.
- Close and open driver's door 2 times within 40 seconds. Go to next step.
- Insert key in ignition switch, then close door. Go to next step.
- Turn ignition switch from ON to LOCK positions, at about one-second intervals, one to 5 times to select mode. To put system in add mode, turn ignition switch for one second from ON to LOCK position one time. To put system in rewrite mode, turn ignition switch from ON to LOCK position 2 times at about one-second intervals. To put system in confirmation mode, turn ignition switch from ON to LOCK position 3 times at about one-second intervals. To put system in prohibition mode, turn ignition switch from ON to LOCK position 5 times at about one-second intervals. See Fig 1. Remove key from ignition switch. If add or rewrite mode is selected, go to step 9. If confirmation mode is selected, go to next step. If prohibition mode is selected, multiplex body ECU automatically performs LOCK/UNLOCK operation 5 times at one-second intervals.
- To verify mode selection, multiplex body ECU automatically performs LOCK/UNLOCK operation a number of times corresponding to key cycles performed in previous step. If confirmation or prohibition modes have been selected, opening door will complete procedure. If add or rewrite mode have been selected, go to next step within 40 seconds.
- Simultaneously press and hold LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on remote transmitter for 1-1.5 seconds and then release. Within 3 seconds, press and hold LOCK button for at least one second and then release. Go to next step.
- Within 3 seconds, press any one of 2 transmitter buttons for more than one second. Multiplex network body ECU automatically performs LOCK/UNLOCK operation 1-2 times at one-second intervals to inform operator that receiver has recognized transmitter signal. If LOCK/UNLOCK occurs once, registration of recognition code is completed. When no registered codes are programmed or problem has occurred in procedure, LOCK/UNLOCK occurs 2 times.
- If additional transmitters are to be programmed, return to step 9. Attempt to use all remote transmitters. If any or all fail to operate properly, return to step 1.
