Automatic Transmission Floor Shift Control Cable Assembly: Replacement

REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ASSY CENTER (See REPLACEMENT )
REMOVE FLOOR CARPET COVER CENTER RH (See REPLACEMENT )
REMOVE FLOOR CARPET COVER CENTER LH (See REPLACEMENT )
REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL LOWER CENTER (See REPLACEMENT )
REMOVE BATTERY
REMOVE AIR CLEANER ASSY
REMOVE AIR CLEANER HOSE NO. 1
REMOVE FLOOR SHIFT TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSY
1. Remove the nut from the control shaft lever.

2. Disconnect the control cable from the control shaft lever.
3. Remove the clip and disconnect the control cable from the control cable bracket.

4. Disconnect the control cable from the control cable clamp.

5. Disconnect the cable end from the rod of the floor shift assy.

6. Remove the 2 nuts.

7. Remove the 3 bolts.
8. Pull out the control cable from the body.

INSTALL FLOOR SHIFT TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSY
1. Pull in the control cable to the body.
2. Install the 3 bolts.
  Torque: 4.9 N.m (50 kgf.cm, 43 in.lbf)

3. Install the cable end, as shown in Fig 8.

  NOTE: Install it with the uneven surface facing up.
4. Install the control cable and 2 nuts.

  Torque: 11.8 N.m (122 kgf.cm, 9 ft.lbf)
5. Connect the control cable to the control cable clamp.

6. Temporarily install the control cable to the control shaft lever with nuts.

7. Install the control cable and clip to the bracket.

INSTALL AIR CLEANER ASSY
ADJUST SHIFT LEVER POSITION (See ADJUSTMENT )
INSPECT SHIFT LEVER POSITION (See ADJUSTMENT )
