Body & Frame: Windows: Windshield: Removal
- REMOVE INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR
- w/Electrochromic rear view mirror:
Using a screwdriver, remove the inner rear view mirror cover.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
- w/Electrochromic rear view mirror: Disconnect the connector.
- Remove the inner rear view mirror as shown in Fig 1 .
- w/Electrochromic rear view mirror:
- REMOVE SUN VISORS AND HOLDERS
- REMOVE ROOF CONSOLE BOX
- Using a screwdriver, remove the map light lens.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
- Remove the 3 screws and roof console box, then disconnect the connector.
- Using a screwdriver, remove the map light lens.
- REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIMS
- REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH
- Remove the front pillar garnish.
- Employ the same manner described above to the other side.
- REMOVE WIPER ARMS
- REMOVE HOOD TO COWL TOP SEAL
- REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER
- Using a clip remover, remove the 2 clips.
- Remove the cowl top ventilator louver as shown in Fig 4 .
- REMOVE ASSIST GRIP
- w/Sliding roof:
REMOVE SLIDING ROOF OPENING TRIM
- REMOVE WINDSHIELD UPPER MOULDING
- Using a knife, cut off the moulding as shown in Fig 5.NOTE: Do not damage the body with the knife.
- Remove the remaining moulding.

- Using a knife, cut off the moulding as shown in Fig 5.
- REMOVE WINDSHIELD GLASS
- Insert a piano wire between body and glass and let it pass through.
- Tie both wire ends to wooden blocks or similar objects.
HINT:
Apply protective tape to the outer surface to keep the surface from being scratched.
NOTE: When separating the glass, take care not to damage the paint and interior and exterior ornaments. To prevent the safety pad from being scratched when removing the windshield, place a plastic sheet between the piano wire and safety pad. - Cut the adhesive by pulling the piano wire around it.
- Remove the glass.

NOTE: Leave as much of the adhesive on the body as possible when cutting off the glass.
