Back Window Glass: Installation
- Fix type, Slide type, Power slide type: CLEAN AND SHAPE CONTACT SURFACE OF BODY
- Using a knife, cut away any rough adhesive on the contact surface of the body to shape the surface.
HINT:
Leave as much of the adhesive on the body as possible.
- Clean the contact surface of the body with a piece of shop rag saturated with cleaner.
- Using a knife, cut away any rough adhesive on the contact surface of the body to shape the surface.
- Fix type, Slide type, Power slide type: POSITION GLASS
- Place the glass in the correct position.
- Check that the whole contact surface of the glass rim is perfectly even.
- Place reference marks on the glass and body.
- Remove the glass.
- Fix type, Slide type, Power slide type: COAT CONTACT SURFACE OF BODY WITH PRIMER M
Using a brush, coat the exposed part of the body with Primer M.
NOTE:- Allow the primer coating to dry for 3 minutes or more.
- Do not apply too much Primer M.
- Throw away any leftover Primer M.
- Fixed type: COAT CONTACT SURFACE OF GLASS WITH PRIMER G
Using a brush or sponge, coat the edge of the glass and the contact surface with Primer G as shown in the illustration.
HINT:
If the area other than that specified is coated by accident, wipe off the primer with a clean shop rag before it dries.
NOTE:- Allow the primer coating for 3 minutes or more.
- Throw away leftover Primer G.
- Slide type, Power slide type: COAT CONTACT SURFACE OF GLASS WITH PRIMER G

- Cut off the tip of the cartridge nozzle.
Adhesive: Part No. 08850-00801 or equivalent

After cutting off the tip, use all adhesive within the time described in the table below.

- Coat the glass with adhesive, as shown in the illustration.

- Position the glass so that the reference marks are aligned, and press it in gently along the rim.
- Using a spatula, apply adhesive on the glass rim.
- Use a scraper to remove any excess or protruding adhesive.
HINT:
Confirm that the moulding is attached to the body panel as shown in the illustration.
- Hold the back window glass in place securely with a protective tape or equivalent until the adhesive hardens.NOTE: Take care not to drive the vehicle during the time described in the table below.
Usage timeframe:

- INSPECT FOR LEAK AND REPAIR NOTE: Conduct a leak test after the adhesive has completely hardened.
Adhesive: Part No. 08833-00030 or equivalent
- Power vertical type: INSTALL BACK WINDOW MOULDING
- Using a hand riveter or an air riveter, install the rivets.
NOTE: Do not prize the riveter. The riveter will be damaged and the mandrel will bend.
- Do not tilt the riveter when fastening the rivet to the item(s) as this will cause the rivet to be loose.
- Do not have any space between the rivet head and the item(s). The rivet head must be completely flat against the item(s).
Do not have any space between the items. Firmly hold together the two items while installing the rivet.
- Install the 2 clips.
- Install the bracket LH and RH with the 8 bolts.
- Using a hand riveter or an air riveter, install the rivets.
- Power vertical type: INSTALL BACK DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR ASSEMBLY
- Apply MP grease to the sliding and rotating parts of the window regulator assembly.NOTE: Do not apply grease to the spring of the window regulator assembly.
- Install the window regulator assembly with the 7 bolts.
Torque: 8.0 N.m (82 kgf.cm, 71 in.lbf)
- Connect the window regulator connector.NOTE: Be careful not to drop and deform the window regulator assembly.
- Apply MP grease to the sliding and rotating parts of the window regulator assembly.
- Power vertical type: INSTALL BACK WINDOW GLASS
- Install the back window glass to the window regulator assembly with the 4 bolts..
Torque: 8.0 N.m (82 kgf.cm, 71 in.lbf)
NOTE: Do not damage the back window glass sub-assy.HINT:
Insert a shop rag inside the door panel to prevent the back window glass from being scratched.
- Connect the defogger connector.
- Install the back window glass to the window regulator assembly with the 4 bolts..
- Power vertical type: INSTALL WEATHERSTRIP INNER
Install the back window glass to the window regulator assembly.
- Power vertical type: INSTALL WEATHERSTRIP OUTER
Install the weatherstrip as shown in the illustration.
- Power vertical type: INSTALL SERVICE HOLE COVER
- Install the cover with the 2 clips.NOTE: Be careful not to drop and deform the cover as this may cause deformation.
- Install the cover to the body.
- Install the 12 bolts.
Torque: 8.0 N.m (82 kgf.cm, 71 in.lbf)
- Install the cover with the 2 clips.
- Power slide type: INSTALL BACK WINDOW REGULATOR ASSEMBLY
- Install the back window regulator assembly with the 7 nuts.
Torque: 5.5 N.m (54 kgf.cm, 49 in.lbf)
- Install the back door glass channel cover.
- Install the 4 clips and 2 back panel silencer pads.
- Install the tether anchor brackets with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 20 N.m (200 kgf.cm, 15 ft.lbf)
- Install the back window regulator assembly with the 7 nuts.

- Standard cab: Install the rear part of the roof headlining with the 2 clips.
- Access cab: Install the rear part of the roof headlining with the 3 clips.

- Double cab: UNFOLD REAR SEAT CAUTION: When returning the seat, make sure the seat is securely locked by pushing forward and rearward on the top of the seatback or by trying to pull up the edge of the bottom cushion. Failure to do so will cause the seat belt from operating improperly.
