VVT Sensor: Removal

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
  2. DRAIN ENGINE  COOLANT 
  3. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the intake manifold assembly (see REMOVAL ).
  4. REMOVE VVT SENSOR (for Bank 1) 
    1. Disconnect the connector.
    2. Remove the bolt and sensor.
  5. REMOVE VVT SENSOR (for Bank 2) 
    1. Disconnect the connector.
    2. Remove the bolt and sensor.
