VVT Sensor: Inspection

  1. INSPECT VVT SENSOR 
    1. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 -2 Cold 835 to 1400 Ω
      Hot 1060 to 1645 Ω

      HINT:

      • "Cold" and "Hot" refer to the temperature of the coils themselves.
      • "Cold" is from -10°C (14°F) to 50°C (122°F) and "Hot" is from 50°C (122°F) to 100°C (212°F).

      If the resistance is not as specified, replace the sensor.
