Oil Level Sensor: Inspection

  1. INSPECT ENGINE OIL LEVEL SENSOR 
    1. Partially immerse the sensor in an oil bath and warm up the oil bath.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance 

      STANDARD RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1-2 ON, 20°C (68°F) Below 1 Ω
      OFF, 20°C (68°F)
      ON, 60°C (140°F)
      OFF, 60°C (140°F) 10 kΩ or higher

      If the result is not as specified, replace the sensor.
